THE FOUNDER
Reilly Dillon
I grew up in South Texas where my family moved to when it was called Tejas. Growing up I spent nearly all of my free time outside, hunting, fishing, driving too fast and trying to be a cowboy on my grandfathers ranch. Those early experiences instilled in me an abiding passion for wild places, far from crowds and help. Over the years I have made many close friends that are professional guides and through my experiences with them and others I have come to value the preparation and self-reliance needed to thrive in the wilderness. For over twenty-five years I have been a mechanical engineer, and I have wanted to use the technical knowledge I have gained as well as my experience in wilderness to make a better product for the outdoors.
OUR VISION
Function, Function, Function.
Oliver Wendell Holes Sr. wrote "For the simplicity on this side of complexity, I wouldn't give you a fig. But for simplicity on the other side of complexity, for that I would give anything I have."
As an engineer who strives for simplification, I summarized Holmes' concept as "Function, Function, Function". So, we strove for features that resulted in actual performance improvement, everything else was secondary. The product may be a lighter, but the philosophy behind it is that consumers deserve better products, designed and tested repeatedly to deliver a higher standard. As consumers we accept, without knowing, a certain level of quality. I wanted to invest the time and engineering to raise the bar for what consumers expect and deserve.
Radlight is the outcome of that effort.

Lighting the Way for a Cause
In 2016 my beloved wife of over thirty years was diagnosed with breast cancer, changing our lives forever. She was already the most beautiful, amazing and determined person I knew, but since then she has survived, evolved and thrived, inspiring me every day. Radlight is committed to the fight against breast cancer and donates a percentage of profits to its prevention and treatment.
